Born and raised in the Berkshires, Pastor Mike left New England to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and stayed 19 years in that area.
He began attending Calvary Chapel of Lynchburg (CCL) under the leadership of Pastor Troy Warner and there developed leadership and ministry skills.
Mike was a Staff Pastor at CCL for 7 years and also taught youth ministry for 13 years. Doing a range of ministries and service, including mowing the church lawn, marriage counseling, digging ditches, teaching God’s Word, and mopping floors, he learned what it meant to serve the Lord even when it didn’t “feel” like ministry!
He came on staff full time at CCL in 2006 and remained until July 2013. During the seven incredible years of growth, God was slowly stirring his heart to return to Massachusetts.
God’s Spirit tugged on his heart to begin a work in New England, which was encouraged by Pastor Troy. After a scouting trip to Massachusetts, the calling to plant a Calvary Chapel in the Worcester area was confirmed.
In talking to Pastor Mike for any length of time you’ll see he loves people, he loves to laugh, and he desires to answer the call of God on his life to edify the body of Christ, to simply teach God’s Word, and to see lost souls come to know God through a relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.
The Scripture that sums up what he would like the ministry to be all about is this: “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power”.
